Radical Terrain, the final exhibition in the Modernist Art from India series, considers the enduring presence of landscape in Indian painting over the course of the twentieth century. In addition to the modernist paintings on view, the exhibition presents landscape as interpreted by global contemporary artists working in diverse mediums and who identify with the theme in their artistic practices. Eight conversations between Indian modernist paintings and contemporary works anchor this exhibition, including Seher Shah, Meghan Boody, Hasan Elahi, Isca Greenfield-Sanders, Marc Handelman, Bryon Kim, Lisi Raskin and Janaina Tschape.
