Nazif Topçuoğlu - Artists - Green . Art . Gallery
Nazif Topçuoğlu was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1953. He graduated with a Masters degree in Photography from the Institute of Design in Chicago(1978) and has a Masters degree in Architecture from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey (1978). Since then he has held several solo shows both in Istanbul and abroad, as well as publishing 3 books on the history and criticism of photography. Topçuoğlu’s work was included in the Turkish pavillion during the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003 and he has participated in various significant group shows including: A Book Between Two Stools, Villa Empain, Boghossian Foundation, Brussels, Belgium (2014); Innerscapes, Green Art Gallery, Dubai, UAE (2012); Confessions Of Dangerous Minds: Contemporary Art from Turkey , Saatchi Gallery, London, UK (2011); New Works, Galeri Nev, Istanbul, Turkey (2010); A Subjective Panorama of Contemporary Turkish Photography , Maison De Metallos, Paris, France(2009), Solo project, Flatland Gallery, Basel, Switzerland (2009). His work is included in several significant publications on contemporary art: Unleashed: Contemporary Art from Turkey which was published by Transglobe (2010);User’s Manual: Contemporary Art in Turkey 1986-2006, published by art-ist (2007); Vitamin Ph: New Perspectives in Photography, published by Phaidon (2006). Nazif Topçuoğlu lives and works in Istanbul, Turkey.
