Glasgow Print Studio presents Argument from Silence, Seher Shah’s first solo exhibition in Scotland. Shah’s practice combines her experiences in the fields of art and architecture to explore the poetics and fractures of space. The exhibition has arisen out of Shah’s six-week residency at the Glasgow Print Studio in 2014, during which she worked closely with master printmakers on copper-plate etchings. The exhibition builds on her explorations in materiality through graphite drawings, etchings, woodcuts, photogravures and sculpture.

Argument from Silence is described as ‘an attempt to prove a negative’. For Shah, it refers to an argument made in the absence of evidence, and reflects her interest in the erased and rewritten histories of specific architectural sites.
